City staff is replacing the Audio/Visual equipment in Citizens Meeting Room in Centennial Hall. The Information Systems team uses these systems to provide in-room, televised and telephonic transmission of live and recorded City Council, Board and Commission meetings along with other content of Public, Educational and Governmental interest.
Much of this equipment has been operating since initial installation in the year 2000. The Information Systems team has closed the room, begun removal of old equipment and estimates the new systems will be operational by August 27th. This will affect the City Council meeting on Tuesday August 20th. During this meeting there will not be the usual live viewings on TV 6 or the City’s website. The public may call in to listen to the meeting by dialing 970-871-7098. The meeting will be recorded to show at a later date, and the new system is anticipated to be in place for the next Council meeting on September 3rd.
Mike Schmidt – Information Systems Manager, said these improvements to the 13 year old system have been planned since February of this year, and are very much needed due to the age of the equipment, frequency of failures, and increasing challenges to maintain.
