The Craig Police Dept. is investigating two inncidents....
The Craig Police Department is investigating two incidents over the last two days involving stranger contacts with children, whereby an unknown person or persons in vehicles reportedly approached school aged children. In one incident an 10 year old male on his way to a school bus stop was reported to have been told to get in a gray passenger car, having some body damage, by a 20 to 30 year old male with black shoulder length hair and facial hair. The youth told the male “no” and reported that the male then showed a handgun, but then drove away. In the second incident, near Ridgeview Elementary School, it was reported that a 4th grade student on their way home, reported that two males drove up to them and stated that their “dad was in a crash”. The student ignored the two males and ran home. The males were described as 30 to 40 years old, one with a shaved head, wearing sunglasses, and the second with blond hair. A black SUV is possibly associated with this report. Parents are advised to discuss with their children how to react if approached by strangers. Citizens, especially parents picking up their children at local schools, are encouraged to be observant of the surroundings and people in the area and to report any suspicious incidents to their local law enforcement as soon as possible.
