City Manager Jon Roberts tendered his resignation to the Steamboat Springs
City Council on Tuesday night.
Council members then appointed Deputy City Manager Deb Hinsvark as
interim city manager. Roberts' resignation is effective at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday.
In August, Roberts's review by memebrs of the City Council was less than positive and as the night wore on it appeared that there was not to votes to actually fire Roberts as council memebr Walter Magill suggested.
Roberts' tenure as city manager was thrown into question in August
when he received a bruising performance review from the City Council.
The review started with council member Walter Magill's call to fire
Roberts.
During the meetin it appeared that President Bart Kounovsky, Scott Myller and Cari Hermacinskiwere on Roberts side and would not give council enough votes to terminate Roberts.
City Council unanimously approved a severance package that includes
six months' worth of pay based on Roberts' $153,000 salary.
